Racer Rifle Competes at USA Shooting Nationals

Three Murray State Racers are competing this week in the USA Shooting National Championships, at Fort Benning, Ga.

The week long competition attracts shooters from all over the world.

Murray State rifle student-athletes Emily Quiner, Ashley Rose and Caroline Barber competed Sunday Women's 10m Air Rifle.

This international competition differs from NCAA tournaments in that the total score is taken from 40 shots instead of 60.

Quiner posted a 392, while Barber shot a 388 and Rose posted a 387.

 "It was a good day for all of our shooters," MSU Rifle Coach Alan Lollar said. "They competed well."

The 2010 USA Shooting National Championships (USASNC) for Rifle and Pistol started Saturday and run through Sunday.

The competition features Olympic disciplines including Free Pistol, Men's 10m Air Pistol, Rapid Fire Pistol, Women's 10m Air Pistol, Women's 25m Sport Pistol, Men's and Women's Three Position Rifle, Men's Prone, and Men's and Women's Air Rifle
