Racer Golf Incoming Freshman Delaney Howson Playing Well In Canada

Murray State women’s golf incoming freshman Delany Howson of Newmarket, Ontario recently turned in two impressive finishes in Canada.

July 8, Howson fired rounds of 75-72-70=217 to post a second place finish at the Investor Group Canadian Junior Championship at Rivendell GC. She finished the event 4-over-par, only four shots off the pace of winner in a field of 55 players who made the 36-hole cut.

Howson recorded another runner-up finish July 13 at the Investors Group Women’s Amateur at Oslerbrook CC with scores of 75-74-73-222 in a field of 57 players who made the cut.

Before coming to Murray State for her freshman year, Howson will compete in the Royale Cup-Canadian Women’s Amateur July 26-30 at Kingsville GC in Kingsville, Ontario. 

Last spring, Howson was the 10th ranked player in Ontario and earned a spot on the national team of Ontario that competed in the Can-Am Matches in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She was ranked 44th in Canada in 2009-10.
