Huzzie Wins Pair of OVC Honors

Murray State sophomore linebacker Qua Huzzie had his best game of the season against Eastern Kentucky, and for his efforts he was named the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer and Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
Huzzie (LaGrange, Ga.) posted 13 tackles (8 solo), four tackles-for-loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles and a pass break-up. He was part of a defense that had a season-high five sacks and forced three fumbles.
He helped to stop the Colonels second drive of the game with a sack on second down, and then ended the third EKU drive by forcing a fumble that was recovered by Julian Whitehead. Huzzie helped to give their first lead of the game in the second quarter as he forced a fumble in the endzone that was recovered by Jeremy Brackett for a touchdown.
On the season, Huzzie is third on the team with 58 tackles, including 37 solo stops. He leads the OVC and ranks 26th nationally with 10.5 tackles-for-loss. He also has three sacks, three pass break-ups and two forced fumbles in seven games.
