Brockman Earns Second All-America Honor

Murray State junior quarterback Casey Brockman earned his second All-America honor in as many weeks when he was named a Third-Team All-America by The Sports Network/Fathead.com on Monday. Last wee, Brockman was a third-team selection by the Associated Press.
Brockman (Murray, Ky.) rewrote the MSU record books on his way to becoming the first All-American quarterback in school history, and finishing 11th in the voting for the 2011 Walter Payton Award. He finished the season by going 316-for-477 for 3,276 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also rushed for 211 yards and four scores, while also catching a pair of touchdown passes.
He set new MSU and OVC records for single-game records for completions (45) and yards (600), while also tieing his own record with seven touchdown passes. Brockman also set new single-season MSU and OVC records for attempts, completions and total offense (3,487).
In a victory over Tennessee State, Brockman became just the fifth player in FCS history to throw for 600 yards in a game. He set the FCS record by throwing for 422 in the first half. He also tied his own record by throwing for seven scores, while adding a touchdown reception on his way to earning National Player of the Week honors from five organizations.
Brockman enters his final season with a chance to break the school career records for attempts (260), completions (70), yards (2,371), touchdowns (9) and total offense (3,169).
