Tuesday Staff Day
Tuesday will be a staff day on the mound for the Breds as they will use several pitches, with no pitcher throwing more than two innings max.
Swept at Home
This weekend marked the first time in nearly four years that the Breds were swept in a three-game series at Reagan Field. The last time it happened came March 17-18 against Indiana State.
Frey Collects 100th RBI
Senior Elliot Frey drove in his 100th run in the series opener against SIU Edwardsville when he cleared the bases with a triple to center field.
Larson's Big Weekend
Cody Larson had the best weekend of his career as he went 8-for-11 with a double, triple and four RBIs against Jacksonville State. He raised his average from .260 to .344 in the series.
Take One For The Team
Center fielder Elliot Frey has no problem taking one for the team. Already the school's single season and career leader in hit by pitches, Frey is closing in on his goal of being hit by 50 pitches. After being hit at Western Kentucky, he now stands at 48 hit by pitches.
Noonan's Second Slam
Zach Noonan delivered his second grand slam of the season as he capped off a six-run first inning by hitting the first pitch he saw over the fence. Noonan also hit a grand slam in the opener against North Dakota State. It marks the second-straight season a Bred has hit two grand slams in a season, after Wes Cunningham did it in 2010.
On Deck
The Breds return to Ohio Valley Conference action as they travel to face Eastern Illinois on April 22-23. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. both days.
