Soccer Drops First Exhibition Of Season 2-1 At UT-Chattanooga

In the first of two tune ups for the Murray State women's soccer team, the Racers dropped a 2-1 exhibition match Saturday afternoon at UT-Chattanooga.
MSU found itself down early in the first half, conceeding a pair of goals to the hosts on a deep shot attempt and a header from the back post on a corner kick to trail 2-0.
Veronika Pribyslavka brought the Racers to within one before halftime, scoring off of a pass from Shauna Wicker to cut the gap in half before the end of the first 45-minute pperiod.
"Obviously for us being an exhibition, it was very relaxed," head coach Beth Acreman said. "Got a chance to see players in some different positions, we adjusted our format to counter what Chattanooga was doing and I thought we took a bit of time to adjust to that. I got to see our new players in action, and we need to see more from everyone in order to get back on track this season and be successful."
MSU plays its second and final exhibition match of the season Monday, Aug. 15, hosting Bethel at 3 p.m. at Cutchin Field.
