Women's Tennis Defeats Western Kentucky 6-1

The Murray State women's tennis squad won its second consecutive match and evened up its dual record to 3-3 on the season with its 6-1 victory on Saturday over Western Kentucky.
The Racers picked up the doubles point in the match, by winning two of the three doubles contests. The team of Megan Blue and Carla Suga won at number two doubles 8-4 and the duo of Erin Patton and Suzaan Stoltz won 9-7 at number three. The team of Ashley Canty and Carolyn Huerth fell 8-1 at number one.
In singles play, the Racers won five of six matches, winning at numbers 2-6. Suga was victorious 6-1, 6-3 at number two. Blue won at number three 6-1 and 6-0, while Patton won at number four singles 6-3, 6-1. Huerth and Stoltz picked up wins at five and six, respectively. Winning 8-6 and 8-1 in their matches, the two played eight-game pro sets after the Racers had clinched the team victory.
The Racers will return to action on March 8 as they will host St. Louis at the Kenlake Tennis Center, which will bring MSU's five-game home stand to an end.
