Men's Tennis Drops Match at SIUE 4-3

The Murray State men's tennis team dropped a tough 4-3 decision for the second consecutive day in OVC action on Sunday at SIU Edwardsville.
The difference in the match was the doubles point, as the Racers (0-13, 0-4 OVC) dropped two of the three matches to lose the point. The team of Joao Camara and Tyler Jeffers picked up the lone victory in doubles play for MSU at number two, winning their match 8-6.
The tandem of Kennedy and Taylor lost at number one doubles 8-6, as did the team of Aleks Mitric and Max McLean at number three.
The two teams split the six singles matches on the day. The Racers picked up victories from Taylor at number two (7-5, 1-6 and 6-4), Jeffers at three (4-6, 6-2 and 6-0) and from Kennedy at number four (6-1 and 6-1). The win for Taylor gives him three victories in his last four matches.
Camara fell at number one 6-0 and 6-0. McLean lost at number five 2-6, 6-1 and 6-4, while Nicolas Mitric lost at number six 6-1 and 6-3.
The Racers will return to action March 30 as they will host Lindsey Wilson College in a non-conference match at 1 p.m. from Bennie Purcell Courts.
