Women's Tennis Rolls to Victory Over SEMO

The Murray State Women's Tennis Team drew its record to .500 on Saturday with a convincing, 7-0 victory over Southeast Missouri at Bennie Purcell Courts.
The Racers dominated every facet of the match, sweeping all six singles matches and winning the doubles point by taking 2-of-3 in doubles play.
MSU (7-7, 4-1 OVC) took the doubles point with victories at number one and at number three. The team of Ashley Canty and Carolyn Huerth defeated Heather Robinson and Nikole Novikova of SEMO 8-4 at one. At number three, it was the duo of Erin Patton and Suzaan Stoltz with the 8-1 victory.
Canty also picked up a victory at number one singles on Saturday, winning 5-7, 6-3 and 11-9. Carla Suga won at number two over Elizabeth Nyenwe 6-2 and 6-0. Megan Blue was victorious at number three, winning 6-1, 6-2, improving her perfect mark to 5-0 in OVC play. Patton won at number four 6-2 and 6-2 over Jessica Courtnell. Huerth and Stoltz won at numbers five and six, respectively, cruising to wins of 6-0, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1.
Blue, Patton and Suga have all won three-straight singles matches now for the Racers, who have won three consecutive as a team as well.
Murray State returns to action on Tuesday as it hosts Austin Peay in OVC action beginning at 12:30 p.m. from Purcell Courts.
