Cunningham Receives Weekly OVC Honor

For the first time this season, Olivia Cunningham has earned the Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week Award. She was named Co-Freshman of the Week along with, Eriel McKee from Morehead State. This is the second time this season a Murray State freshman has been named Freshman of the Week.
Although MSU lost both games this past week, Cunningham had 15 points to go along with five rebounds against Evansville. She gave her teammates four assists and helped with one steal. She was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Against the Owls, she had a game-high 18 points to go along with three rebounds and three assists. On the week, she shot .444 from the field, and .700 from the free-throw line.
Cunningham averaged 16.5 points per game this past week. So far this season, she is averaging 3.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 0.7 steals on the season.
Murray State will face their next opponent Southern Illinois on Dec. 16 at 12:05 p.m. at Carbondale, Illinois.Â
