Groves Adds Ten to 2016 Roster

Head Coach Jeremy Groves is pleased to announce his 2016 signing class. Allison Samisch, Madalyn Germann, Anna Richards, Karsyn Hasch, Kacie Frost, Emma Heise, Elizabeth Tilton, Victoria Faulk, Jade Horcicka, and Madeline Balmer joins the reigning OVC Champions in the fall of 2016. In 2015, MSU finished with a program best 16-5 record. The Racers won their first OVC regular season championship since 2008 and were the first team in OVC soccer history to finish the regular season 10-0. Murray State also won their first OVC tournament title since 2009. The program also set the longest win streak record with 11 before having it end in the NCAA Tournament..

![]() | Allison Samisch is a defender/midfielder from Collierville, Tenn. Samisch comes to Murray State after playing four years on varsity at Briarcrest Christian School where, as team captain, she led her team to a TSSAA Div. II-AA state championship. In 2015, she scored five goals and had 10 assists. Samisch was named to the Div.-II-AA West All Region Team and the Best of the Preps team. During the 2015 club season, she was named a Disney Finalist and a Div I Tennessee State Finalist. Samisch's club team finished third in the Southern Regional Premier League. Groves on Samisch: "[She's] an athletic player who can play in multi positions- knows how to win playing for a highly successful high school and club team. Technically very comfortable on the ball." |
![]() | Madalyn Germann joins the Racers as a center midfielder from Aurora, Colo. Germann comes to Murray State after playing four years at Grandview High School where, as senior captain, she led her team to a state championship. In spring 2015, Max Preps named Grandview High School the number one team in the nation. As a member of the Colorado Storm ECNL soccer club, Germann reached the National Finals and finished in the top eight teams in the nation as a freshman. In 2014, she was selected by her club to play in a friendly against the Costa Rica Women's National Team. In 2015 Germann was selected by her club to play in a friendly against the Columbian Women's National Team as they prepared for the women's World Cup. Groves on Germann: "Maddy is a midfielder who is very comfortable on the ball and very good technically- she is going to add to how we want to play the game of soccer- She has played at an extremely high level and she has a high soccer IQ." |
![]() | Anna Richards joins the Racers as a forward/midfielder from Cincinnati, Ohio. Richards comes to Murray State from Turpin High School where she played varsity all four years. In her junior and senior year, she won a D1 District Championship and was also named to the First Team Eastern Cincinnati conference. As a member of the Kings Hammer Academy, Richards won a Region 2 Championship in 2015. Her team also won the Ohio State Cup in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Her team is ranked first in Ohio and 14th in the nation. Groves on Richards: "Anna is a dynamic and athletic forward/midfield who is going to add depth to our attacking play next season. She plays at an extremely high level club program who have been very successful over the past three years. " Â |
![]() | Karsyn Hasch is a center defender from Temecula, Calif. Hasch comes to Murray State after attending Great Oaks High School. She was also a member of the Carlsbad United FC club team. In 2011 and 2012, her team won a Cal South National State Cup Championship. Her club team also finished third in the USYS championship in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Groves on Hasch: "Karsyn is what I would call a good old fashion defender- Extremely tough and willing to put her body on the line. She is going to add to our all ready tough defenders- I believe she can play anywhere along the back line- what makes Karsyn even better is she is very comfortable on the ball playing out from the back. Karsyn's club team is one of the best in the nation and that's because the way they defend only giving up one or two goals the whole of last season. " |
![]() | Kacie Frost is a defender/goalkeeper from Chesterfield, Mo. Frost comes to Murray State after playing at Villa Duchesne High School. Her freshman, sophomore, and junior year, Frost was named to the Metro League First Team. In 2014, she was named team MVP as she had 27 shots, one goal, and led the team in assists with nine. She also played as goalkeeper where she went 2-2 with 23 saves, an .85 save percentage, and recorded half a shutout. As a junior, Frost had 35 shots, three goals, two of which were game winning goals, and four assists. Groves on Frost: "Kacie Frost is a very athletic player out of MO. Kacie flew under the radar-She will be comfortable playing in defense or midfield. She is a player that loves to get forward and join in the attack- she loves to dribble at people." |
![]() | Emma Heise joins the Racers as a forward from Cincinnati, Ohio. Heise comes to Murray State from Archbishop McNicholas High School where she won a state championship in 2014. As a senior, she was named First Team All GCL, All-City, and All-District. She also received the Rocket Award and was named senior captain. Heise played in two senior all-star games as well. Groves on Heise: "Emma Heise is an athletic forward who is comfortable with her back to goal and will help in our build up play as she is good at introducing other players. She will be a threat in the box as she is tough and good in the air. We are very excited to have emma apart of our program" |
![]() | Elizabeth Tilton joins the Racers as a forward from Denton, Texas. Tilton comes to Murray State after attending Billy Ryan High School, where she was a starting varsity player all four years and was named captain her senior year. Her junior year, she was named Second Team All-District. Tilton led her club team to a championship at the Lone Star College Showcase. Her team also made it to the semifinals at the Texas State Cup. Groves on Tilton: "Elizabeth is a tall athletic forward who is going to cause havoc for OVC defensives. She is very good with her back to goal and also makes very creative runs. Lizzy was an extremely late pick up for us and we are very happy to have her." |
![]() | Victoria Faulk joins the Racer soccer team as a forward from Coltsville, Pennsylvania. Faulk comes to Murray State after attending South Oldham High School. Her junior year, Faulk was named to the All-District team. Groves on Tilton: "Victoria is a crafty player who will create a lot of chances for her teammates- she can play in either midfield or as a forward. She has a great left foot and is going to give us much needed depth. " |
![]() | Jade Horcicka joins the Racers as a midfielder from Tallebudgera, Australia. Horcicka comes to Murray State after playing for Palm Beach Currumbin State High School. She was named to the Under 19 Queensland School Girls State Soccer Team in 2014 and 2015. Groves on Horcicka: "Jade is  midfielder who has the potential to run the show for us. Jade has a great engine and is extremely comfortable on the ball- She is going to add to the way we want to play and link up all areas of the field as well as getting forward and being a threat in front of goal. " |
![]() | Madeline Balmer is a forward from Murray Kentucky. Balmer comes to Murray State after attending Calloway County High School. She won many awards including All-District, Second-Team All-Region, First Team All-Region, All-Region Player of the Year, and Second Team All-State. Groves on Balmer "Madeline is a very fast and powerful athlete who isn't afraid to put herself about on the field. She has the ability to play in multiply positions and has the attributes to make an impact. " |
