Racers Set For Road Trip Against Troy & South Alabama

The Murray State women's soccer team makes its first road trip, traveling to play Troy and South Alabama on Friday 25 and Sunday 27.
In Case You Missed It
Murray opened the year with a commanding victory over visiting Marshall University, sending the Thundering Herd back to West Virginia with a 2-0 loss.
Harriet Withers was the sole source of offense, scoring at the 51st and 87th minute marks to give the Racers their first goals of the season.
Alex Steigerwald picked up her first clean sheet of the year, only having to make three saves in her 2017 debut. Steigerwald now stands tied second all-time in Racers history with her 12 career clean sheets.

After her two goal game against Marshall, Withers now is just two goals away from tying Julie Mooney (2011-2014) for second all-time in career goals. The all-time leader is Theresa Reedy (2001-2004) with 34 career goals.
Steigerwald and the defensive unit of the Racers is looking for another strong outing, as only seven shots were attempted by the Thundering Herd, while just three were on target. Steigerwald now has a GAA of .95, keeping her second all time.
Making it Look Easy
If you include the exhibition games against Evansville and Western Kentucky, Murray has scored nine unanswered goals in their last three games while conceding no goals in the process.

South Alabama is 0-2 coming into the game on Sunday, with a 0-3 loss to #10 Auburn and 1-2 to #15 Florida State. Their lone goal was scored by Chelsea Followwell. The Jaguars have put up 11 total shots while just five have reached target. They've allowed 32 total shots and have let 12 on target.
