Constitution
Article I
NAME
-- The Student-Athlete Advisory Council is a committee composed of one student-athlete representative from each varsity sport on the Murray State campus.
Article II
PURPOSE
-- The purpose of the SAAC is to promote communication between the MSU athletics department and the student-athlete population. Also to encourage and provide the student-athlete with the opportunity to effectively communicate with the MSU athletics department and provide suggestions for the development of programs designed to serve their needs. The SAAC also wants to actively encourage more involvement of the student-athlete in campus and community projects.
Article III
MEMBERSHIP
-- The membership of the SAAC is composed of one representative from each varsity sport at MSU, the faculty representative and the advisor. Each member serves as a liaison between the committee and his or her team.
Article IV
QUALIFICATIONS
-- By the last week in April, each coach shall submit the name of his or her representative for the following year. Minimum requirements for the MSU SAAC are:
1. Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0
2. Attendance at each monthly meeting
Article V
OFFICERS
-- President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer
Article VI
MEETINGS
-- This organization will meet the first Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in the Racer Room at Stewart Stadium. Additional meetings may be arranged if needed. All representatives are responsible for attending every meeting unless he/she has a legitimate excuse, and in that case must find an alternate to attend in his/her place. It is very important each team be represented at each meeting.
