MURRAY STATE STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
MISSION STATEMENT AND PHILOSOPHY
The strength and conditioning department at Murray State University is tasked with the mental and physical development of the collegiate athlete.
These needs are addressed in a sport specific manner utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and cutting edge scientific methods and protocols. Areas such as speed, power, agility, strength, and injury reduction are improved using a variety of training methods including Olympic-style lifting, high intensity progression, functional training, chains, tires, sandbags, and proprioceptive drills, all combining to assist each athlete to reach his or her potential.
We try to emulate the energy and physical demands for each sport as closely as possible to the requirements of that particular sport. We strive to help each sport build a championship season. These building blocks are laid down one rep at a time, one set at a time; one day at a time; one week and month at a time. There are no shortcuts to greatness.
