Racers Fall in Straight Sets at Renaissance Coliseum

Murray State loses at Bradley 3-0.
The Murray State Racers fell to the Bradley Braves 3-0 at the Renaissance Coliseum Saturday evening in Peoria, Illinois.
The Racers (4-17, 2-10 MVC) remain at the bottom of the MVC standings, three games out from the six-team MVC tournament with four games left. Meanwhile, the Braves (11-13, 5-7 MVC) are tied with Illinois State for sixth in the MVC.
The Braves won the first set 25-16, helped by an 8-2 run in the middle of the set and 16 kills. They continued to roll through the second with a 25-12 win to move ahead 2-0. The Racers fell behind in the third set 21-13; however, they battled back to make it 23-19 before the Braves ultimately clinched the match with a 25-21.
Federica Nuccio and Ella Vogel led the Racers with five kills apiece while Paige Brock put up 11 assists to lead the team. Samantha Nelson added nine digs from the libero position, while Lily Burnett put up six.
Gracie Furlong led the Braves with 15 kills, while Maria Drapp put up 37 assists, and Irene Mostradini had 15 digs.
The Racers return next week for a 6 p.m. CT match at Southern Illinois in Carbondale, Illinois, on Friday, Nov. 7, before returning home the following day to host Valparaiso at 5 p.m. CT.
