BEFORE MSU: Played two seasons for coach Brad Tuttle at Kaskaskia Community College...named best defensive player both seasons...hit .284 with four doubles, four triples, four home runs and 24 RBIs as a sophomore...was 17-for-18 in stolen bases as a freshman...two-time all-conference selection at Clinton High School...went 10-0 with a 1.11 ERA in helping the Maroons to a 27-5 record...hit .407 as a junior...four-year letterwinner in football and wrestling...two-time all-conference selection in both sports...set school record for receptions and yards in a season.
